A heavy boat is a water tractor. Usually there is as much boat under the water as above to counteract the tonnage.  The problem with this obselete approach is that one ends up plowing a lot of water — which is NOT desirable.

Boats with large displacements cannot go above hull speed; they remains trapped between their own bow and stern waves. Korenoc can free itself from its bow waves and remain above hull speed and beyond.

WEIGHT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE

The rig is made as light and strong as possible for a better righting moment.

INTERIOR

LIGHTWEIGHT AND MODERN

All the bulkheads are made of structural carbon fiber, painted over with a flat tuscany red to add ambiance. On the hull interior face, a carbon roving is simply varnished. The sophisticated designer wood cabinetry is made of foam core plywood with teak veneers for increased weight reduction.  This teak is treated with 130 volume hydrogen peroxide, then with white wood stain before three coats of two-parts poly-urethane varnish.

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

EXTERIOR

Only a portion of the keel's blade is made of special milled stainless steel (mostly the forward section). Carbon fibers are used on the foil in order to concentrate the weight in the lower section of the keel — the bulb itself.

The keel utilizes special stainless steel milled down from one solid piece in order to maximize strength and durability.  At 4 meters below the waterline, the torpedo bulb is made of lead with antimony. Out of the 30 tons, 10 is in the keel.
